INSIDE THE LABORATORY *
Days with DAH Theatre Research Center
* From May 25th until June 6th 2010, "Inside the Laboratory" will be organized upon request of Janet Rodgers and students from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU/USA)
Intensive week with artists from DAH Theatre Research Center
-Performances, workshops, lectures, meetings-
Program "Inside the Laboratory" exists from 2004 is designed for all interested professional practitioners, students and scholars from different fields with an aim to present "secrets" behind DAH Theatre Research Center's working methods, ethic and esthetic.
DAH Teatar has been founded by two directors, Dijana Milosevic and Jadranka Andjelic in 1991 in Belgrade out of a need for profound experimental work. In 1993 DAH Theatre enlarged it's activities and grew into DAH Theatre Research Center with it's activities: DAH Teatar - theatre laboratory, theatre projects, performances, work demonstrations, workshops, lectures, festivals and meetings, networks, tours, the international school.
Creation of DAH Theatre coincided with the start of the civil war in ex-Yugoslavia, therefore over the years, DAH Teatar and later DAH Theatre Research Center, existed and developed it's activities in very challenging circumstances, which deeply marked it's work and credo.
"In the contemporary world, destruction and violence can be opposed only by creation of sense" - is the motto of DAH Teatar
During one week participants will have an opportunity to observe the work or work practically with artists from DAH Theatre Research Center (actresses Maja Mitic, Sanja Krsmanovic Tasic and Ivana Milenović, actor and musician Jugoslav Hadžić and with directeress D.Milosevic), to see all the performances and working process demonstrations by DAH Theatre, to hear lectures and see videos in relation to different aspects of the work of the Center and to take active part in talks and meetings.
The intention of the DAH Theatre Research Center is to let participants have "a look behind the closed doors of the laboratory".
We open the doors of our "laboratory" and allow participants to take part in creation of different parts of the "experiment" which is the theatre piece. At the same time our intention is to equip them with the tools for the theoretical approach also important in our work.
